ELAYNA! ELAYNA! RE: NO-SEE-UMS! Maybe my 4th message to you guys over the years, whenever I hear your struggles with these pests and lately when I see the bites all over little Lenny and Darwin, I'm sending this message to you again from across the universe in the hopes it reaches you...one day... You need to get/make some roasted coconut oil for the NO-SEE-UMS! My family is from the Caribbean, but I learned this from some Indigenous women in Bastimentos, Panama and it WORKS! All natural and effective! Folks if YOU see this and have a more direct line to the Vagabonde crew, please let them know. ROASTED COCONUT OIL!!! ROASTED COCONUT OIL!!! Good luck! Hope this finds everyone well, safe, happy and sound :)

Could you provide more details, please! How do you roast it? Do you then need to apply it to all areas of exposed skin? The reason I ask is that coconut oil makes me break out, so I don't want to put it on my face if I can avoid it. Thanks!

Hey guys. Been a fan for a few years now, and enjoy living vicariously through your work, but I couldn't help but wonder something after watching this video...the plethora of sea life you managed to pull from the ocean in this video...well done. Nothing against hunting or fishing or eating animals, but I just wonder if you ever pause to take a moment to acknowledge or respect the life you are taking, not just as an accomplishment, but also for the life it gives you, and the inherent magnificence of the creatures themselves. No judgement, just an observation. I know you guys are sensible, just wondering if you think about it. Those are some pretty magnificent creatures. Cheers from Canada.

    • Clacroix
      Clacroix Hace 5 meses

@Rebecca Rendle they also list the software they use in their description drop down menu… so that might help. I’m only assuming that they make it themselves and don’t have help with video editing that I’m aware of but I could be wrong.

    • Clacroix
      Clacroix Hace 5 meses +2

@Rebecca Rendle well you can’t get mad about that if it gets lost in the comments section. With as many ways to make digital animations now in their video editing, you can go just about anywhere online/using an app to do so.

@Isaac Taylor I agree with "the ordinary family cannot do this", but for different reasons. Even if an "ordinary family" had outside funds to help pay for adventures, they wouldn't have the skillset, desire, persistence, or courage to follow through with it. They also wouldn't have the ability to raise those funds. This is no different than a normal business. You pitch your idea to investors or a bank, if they like it, you get the funds. SLV pitched and people liked it.

They couldn't do it on their own? Nothing amazes me more than people who commend this behavior, calls themselves adults, has sex to produce a child, and then talks about how they can't do it without help because they wanted to maintain a certain rich lifestyle. Love checking in from time to time to see how in tune with reality i am compared to those that need everything given to them in order to be happy in life.

Just wanted to mention, where I'm from we can get the lobsters right out in the bay. The large ones tend to be on the tough side. The medium ones are the best eating. Also it's safer if you keep them alive until eating them. Those sure looked like some powerful guys though. You might have had to wrestle them into the pot haha!

Your videos and lifestyle are really nice 😊. Found your channel not too long ago and have watched quite a few. You guys seem like really good people, and your kids are super cute, and lucky to have such kind hearted and adventurous parents.
Hope you are using those lobster bodies for soup, they make really good stock and are great for stuff like bouillabaisse!
Tip for getting the small bugs like fruit flies and no see ems… and it’s fun, used to blast fruit flies right out of the air and off the bottles behind the bar when I had my restaurant… get a squeeze bottle and fill it with 90 percent isopropyl alcohol, add a lighter to the mix, and you have yourself a great little flame thrower! Just adjust the spray so it’s not too misty, not too streamy, and it will do a few feet easy. Works on mosquitos as well, snd you can just shoot flies with straight alcohol to incapacitate them. Dries fast. Isopropyl is also the best window cleaner, way better than windex and other vinegar based ones, and cheaper.
    Safe travels 🙏😊

I'm a newish subscriber, saw you guys from Eamon and Bec.. I can barely swim, not at all keen on the sea and have to take tablets for motion sickness if I step foot on a ferry.. But I absolutely love this channel and all it offers...!
