I've been watching since the earliest times. I agree that this is one of the best productions you have done. You should submit this for some award... It has beauty, meaning, passion for life, caring for each other and the world and the family life and the killer kids` smiles and cheakiness. I loved it.

It’s been a while since I caught up with a SLV ep and I’d just like to say WOW 🤩 You’ve always maintained high production values but wow, your whole game is so strong now ✊ The other thing that really struck me is just how much you’ve grown / matured as a travelling family unit. You’re much more comfortable with who you are and your place in the world 🙂 Much respect and much love, guys ✊🤙🤙🤙

Best video in a while. You’re honestly producing some of the best content on ESclips, the editing, the awareness you’re raising, the footage, the escapism. It really is a beautiful life you’re living. I hope to one day have something similar myself.

Holy crap, for the longest time you used to have really well edited videos, but this one is FAR BEYOND professional quality! Like, there are tons of professional video editors that would never put this much effort and details and skills into the editing work! I giggled and smiled so many times over all the little editing jokes and perfectly done transitions, and the video layout overall was just perfection.

The perfect blend of captivating imagery, fun editing, telling of a story and getting an important message across.
I watch a few sailing channels and the output of SLV continues to be the gold of not platinum standard that most others don’t get anywhere near.

You're creating not only an informative documentary of life on the water, and your experiences with your family, but the entertainment value has sky rocketed. Such a great pleasure to watch and you have definitely become one of the best productions. Continue your success on ESclips and living the dream.

Let's face it, there are many GREAT sailing channels out there, all doing a great job, and I deeply dislike comparing one against another. But your subscriber numbers and the passionate comments made in support of your video quality, editing, story telling abilities, graphics etc all put you ahead. I agree, you probably are the best. But I don't know why because others genuinely make great quality videos of beautiful places, with beautiful people and tell great stories. I guess you are '10's across the board but some others might get a '9' in one category or another! This is like Olympic freestyle ice skating, isn't it?
I also think your environmental credentials - like being anti industrial scale fishing and overfishing, helping out Greta T etc - is close to many people's hearts. Those opposed to such ideas make a lot of noise but they really are a tiny (but influential) minority. I am still not sure what it is that makes you exceptional.
What started me on this is being gobsmacked at how youthful you both look in this! Time passes for all of humanity, EXCEPT you two. You both look as good today as you did when you first started 'vlogs' as we used to call them back in the old days, 4 years ago. That, or you are shape-shifting alien lizards

Not a massive fan of spearfishing for many reasons, but the way you're doing it, is as you say, much better than buying from the supermarket, and if we all do something it has a massive impact! I’ve been an avid scuba diver for 30+ years. It’s shocking to see how much the reef’s have diminished in that short amount of time. It also angers me that I can fish all day long, and can’t keep any due to size restrictions, but can go to the market and see those same fish same size in abundance. Something must be done!

I started watched your channel years ago because I had always dreamed of getting a sailboat. The other reason was to reduce some stress of work while traveling two hours a day on the commuter train to and from work. I'm a lawyer in Chicago but live in a distant suburb. I continued watching because you guys seemed so happy and seeing the beautiful scenery made me happy. I stopped watching just after you had Lenny. I'm not sure exactly why, maybe it was the pandemic and the fact that I didn't travel to work for a bit. Nevertheless, I returned to your channel today. I was blown away by how big Lenny is now. I last saw him as a new baby. I'm 53 years old. When you get older, time passes by in an odd way. A considerable amount of time can pass, but it feels like a short period of time. Consequently, in my head, it was as if I stopped watching your channel a few months ago, so imagine my shock to see Lenny talking! And, you have another child! How awesome. Well, suffice it to say, I came back to your channel with the right video. I'm on my way home on the commuter train and I can just feel the stress melt away as I watch how happy you both are as parents and the wonderful views you provided for us. P.S. your video skills were great before, but, boy, have you taken it to the next level. Well done. I have four children ages 30, 23, 20 and 16. Time flies by so enjoy every minute you can.

Some areas are worse than others (you mentioned no fan corrals in European waters), but the Great Barrier Reef has also going through bad times. Hello Reilly, Elayna and crew love watching your videos and always look forward to the next one. But this one I can totally relate to Reilly’s frustration. I am an avid fisherman, spearo and reef keeper and love all things reef. I live in Mackay in the central part of the Great Barrier Reef which should be one of the most protected places in the world but I can speak from experience that under the waves it’s all is not well. back in 2020 I got to witness a bleaching event which was unprecedented for this region. through my estimates at least 98% of all corals to a depth of 25 meters were severely bleached with an average mortality of around 25% of surface corals. This event effected the whole area between the Whitsunday islands that are still recovering from total decimation from cyclone Debbie 3 years earlier, to Gladstone. That’s some 400 km of reefs bleached with an average of 25% of that dead that’s one quarter. I’ve also learned that the reef has had another bleaching event in a la nina year which apparently was meant to not happen so something is clearly wrong. I admit that I work in an industry that is helping this I’ve been in low places because of this and it doesn’t get any easier watching what you love
Deteriorate and die right in front of you especially when you know it on a species by species level, it like watching family die. All I hope is humanity wakes up sooner rather than later. In the link below is my footage from that event, I hope you see it and keep up the good work

Love watching you living the dream like I did when I was your age (USVI/BVI). The negative things you described that threaten the beauty you/we love so much is part of the process, my brother. Have you ever noticed that your favorite fish doesn’t normally swim into you bag and say “I’ll be good with garlic butter?” They work hard to survive, and here’s what our Father told me about that: “…when you help hungry people get what they need, you are giving ME the food that I need, because I want you to learn to value people more than anything else…like Jesus showed you.”
Most people approach problems like snake killers, but we fix problems much more easily and effectively by planting what we want to grow.
Fishing trawlers need regulation, of course, but the fastest path to improving what they tend to threaten is to build competitive operations that puts their old harmful model out of business. Hatcheries, better management so that one species of sharks doesn’t eat more salmon or cod than 50 people would. The biggest problem we have in eco-conservation is the weak constitutions of most of the people who want to conserve wildlife and fish numbers, but are totally incapable emotionally of being part of what that REQUIRES, naturally.
This reminds me of a bitter city woman who was clueless to the realities of wildlife management so a guide offered to show her how SHE was the problem, and they shot a few coyotes with her along as an observer. Out of the four they managed to shoot there were 14 baby turkeys, 6 quail and what looked like a couple of someone’s pet dogs. When wiser less emotional people get involved at the local level, we will see a tremendous change, and hatcheries are just as vital as thinning the population of species that over predate struggling species, including trawlers.
The anger you rightly have about damage to OUR environment is best resolved by expediting the natural life cycle of a truly responsible human being who, when young is just a consumer, and with time becomes a concerned liberal Democrat snake killer, but is only worth a damn to the world, the environment and most of all the people when they become willing to work toward the solutions, love the truth and become conservative JudeoChristian servants who are hated by selfishly self-righteous Dummycrats and RINOs, because they are devoted to planting and growing what is needed by ALL in order to thrive…rather just destroying everything that doesn’t agree with their self-righteous conflicts of interest that require us all to be servile, unarmed peasants! “) Truly.

Wow, that was an excellent episode!!! You both are amazing!!! Any take aways from this episode as to environmental stewardship can only have positively impact for our planet. As a diver for the last 20 years I have definitely seen the decline of colour on our reefs and the decrease in aquatic life. Keep it up!!!

Excellent production. Again, proving traditional media and big tech are completely lost. Netflix, Amazon and Disney could spend truckloads of cash and not come up with a show as real, entertaining and authentic as SLV or any of the other sailors/cruisers on YT.

It's just gut wrenching to see what we've done. The future isn't good if we don't put a total halt to the business as usual.

One of my favorite things ever is when Elayna is going along being all serious and creative and then suddenly makes a goofy face. Don't know why but it makes me really happy. It's the surprise of the thing. She's a complicated person in the best way.

Best episode yet! I cracked up at Lenny's 'Nope', and felt Riley's pride when he fed Elayna a piece of smoked fish at the end as he turned around. Lovely moment! Great animation and special effects! Love watching your videos, you guys are just so wonderful.

Wow guys, that was a really intricate, complex editing session you had for this week's episode. Nice to have an early "Friday" video, it's getting stressful watching what's going on in Ukraine. Stay safe and slava Ukraini!

This is my first comment, in years of watching your videos religiously and dreaming about getting a boat myself. This episode stroke a really personal chord for me! I'm really saddened by our collective lack of care towards our oceans, and especially how difficult it is to see images of what is happening so far from land - it is so easy to forget what is happening out of sight. I am grateful for any educational content about the ocean ecosystems and destructrive impacts - I would love to see more of this!

Easily one of favourite subscriptions. I've been watching you guys for a while now and can honestly say that all your hard work is coming through the lens and into our screens. There's not much on ESclips that I'd safely expose my two boys to, however, your content is rich with the colours of life and a real insight into the beauty of family, planet earth and the human experience so I'm happy to sit there with them and bring them into your world. Continue to enjoy the world!

Amazing video, thank you! Just to point out that spearfishing is actually *the* most selective way of fishing, where unlike other ways, you get to actually see and choose what to catch. Keep up the great work. Fair seas and following winds.

Great video and awesome fish! Thanks for educating the viewers about the overall loss of coral reefs and overfishing. I just subscribed to your channel but have been watching your videos for a couple of years. My wife and I live in the state of Georgia in the US.

Haven’t been on your channel in about 6 months after having caught up on all your videos. Lenny has REALLY grown! Feel like y’all are a family I’ve known forever having kind of experienced your transformation to sea life over the years. Glad to see you are all doing well, still together, and in good spirits!

I've been watching you guys from the very beginning. (I'm so sorry I can't afford to be a patron :( . This is the best, most beautiful, heart-felt video you've ever made. I hope everyone who sees the content takes what you see and feel about our oceans seriously and to heart. Loved the toilet paper and Lenny lmao! I remember those endearing days with my own. Love to you all. Good on ya!
