He is the sweetest old soul I have seen in a long time. He's going to make a difference in our world (like his parents) He's sa very big spirit in that little blonde body . . . very special. And your new boy - he's going to be a heart beater as well!!! Thanks for allowing us a window into your life. Love sailing with you!!!

You could always stick bananas in the freezer for smoothies (if there’s space), that way, no need for ice cubes. Unpeeled, Chop it up in a container, freeze it overnight or couple of hours. Also great for making ice cream or a smoothie bowl 😊

I find slicing the bananas first, then freezing on a parchment lined baking sheet works best & is quickest in case you’re in a hurry.

Great episode! Just curious. Can somone explain how feeding sharks in the wild is different from feeding bears in wild? Neither consider humans as food, but feeding bears attracts them to humans as a source of food and that is considered bad. Wouldn’t the same thing be true for sharks? 🧐

The four of you are great and thanks for posting numerous adventures. It shows that everyone is for the most part, enjoying the Passage that you and Riley have signed up for, especially with the caveat, that you are the proud parents of two wonderful boys on a Sailing Vessel in the high Seas and calm Ocean waters. As to Riley's latest comment asking for advice, I will share my attitude and history of my earlier days, ages from 3 to 6. First my Mom nor my Dad would never use curse words, especially in front of the children. There are a lot of ways to express emotions, i.e.,
Not the language of curse word but rather words of hope. When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or for that matter we can take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell."
Cursing will not get that job nor next crew passage.
I am 70 years young and have seen this wrong behavior turn out very bad due to the tongue and what it will repeat. However, I had strong and loving parents.
It is so easy to curse, especially when young. You learn from your parents. A child doesn't know any better and will repeat everything Mom and Dad say. Please do not me wrong, as both of you gave great parents. My parents would make us put a Nickle or dime in a box every time I would curse. This includes my brother and two sisters. We have turned out being very successful and do not use curse words. Please you have an opportunity to stop the cursing. It will also improve the vocabulary to speak what is bothering them. i.e. “Please use your words”
Save your children from repeating what everyone should say on the Sailing Vessel La Vagabond.
You and Riley have been given an opportunity for your sons.

Mom of 5 here... Watching my child learn how to communicate is one of my absolute favorite stages. Foul language is a common discussion with parents. We don't use a lot of questionable language in our house but ALL of our children have tried out all the fun words anyway. I read an article about talking with your kids about using strong language. Essentially, giving them permission to do so if they think their feelings are matching the words. BUT also teaching them that they have to be willing to accept the responses of those around them. IE, some parents might not let them play with their children again if they use strong language around them, etc. I don't believe in using "bad" language but have taken this approach with my children after reading the article. It has been the most effective way of teaching my children to communicate properly with others and how to use discretion with words.
