About the cook pans!.. Do get rid of your teflon pans very soon now that we've learned they are bad, but they are really bad when they are worn or damaged. We cannot recommend GreenPans enough (or some ceramic non-stick of the same type and quality). They are more expensive, but worth every penny in safety, health, reduced environmental impact, ease of use, and ease of cleaning. They cook much better which uses less gas - 30-50% less for us. Just take good care of it and it will last forever..
I bought a small one on sale to try it out a couple years ago, and immediately it became the only one I use. When the next sale came along I sprung for a larger one as well. Highly recommend! 😎

@Pamela Dawson but does a teacher give you the answer or show you how to answer the question yourself? I think we should ask the questions that lead ppl to the right answer rather then give them the answer otherwise the answer is not their own... So keep asking questions that lead to more questions only then will we find the answers we seek 🙏🤲🗝️

I love Eamon & Bec and Kara & Nate, but my husband and I have 2 boys-so your life is the only one we can really see yourselves emulating. We have a weekend boat, we’re getting there!

Good food is important if you live on a sailboat or live on land. As I walk through the supper market I can not believe how many pre packaged foods are found. I guess I am an old fart and prefer to make my meals from scratch. In most cases meals from scratch do not take much more time than packaged foods but have much less sugar, salt and preservatives. When I prepare my meals from scratch I know exactly what I am eating. Love your videos, keep up the good work.

A couple of points though. My Buddhist friend would appreciate you renaming the Buddha bowl as a veggie bowl, and 'organic' is mostly unregulated around the world. Don't expect the label to really mean anything other than a higher price, unless you know who you are buying from.

I was watching a documentary on Organic food in grocery stores. Sometimes you are just getting the label. Organic veggies often look a little less appetizing since it isn't treated, and everyone wants the perfect looking veggies. Organic meat is more heavily controlled than vegetables. At least where I am in Canada.

I just love watching your more day to day life videos! Hi from the UK 👋🏻 I thought of u guys recently as I spent a week in Rhodes and went on some boat trips 🫶🏻 please share your actual menu that u had on that bit of paper or was it a shopping list? My bf and I have tins and dry store food that gets lost in the cupboard and we’re trying to get use them rather than them get wasted and the food in our freezer before it gets freezer burn. We’re trying to be resourceful since the cost of living is sky rocketing. Love to u all ✌🏻❤️

I've never heard browned butter called "the gross stuff." It's a very common ingredient in some amazing recipes.

I tried that date and chocolate hack after you showed it to Kara and Nate and I think it tastes like brownie batter 😊

Oh, also, CHOCOLATE... dark chocolate and dried fruit is to die for! Dark chocolate and dried cherries, fresh banana and even dried Turkish apricots is awesome. Chocolate is actually a FOOD, and you can eat organic cacao nibs and dried fruit too.

This was very interesting to watch - definitely made me want to incorporate some of these meals into my own kitchen.
You mentioned the fact that sometimes the produce already has issues with quality and rot. Because organic foods contain lower amounts of preservatives, they have a shorter storage life and tend to spoil faster than conventional foods. Do you ever consider they might not sell organic due to the remoteness of some of the islands and issues with organic foods spoiling? I know it’s frustrating as a consumer, but from business background it might explain a bit of the store’s reason of not offering organic. Just a thought!

@Sharon This does not work for everyone, sadly! My daughter had a anaphylactic shock when she was a Baby.. she had a very small amount of hazelnut. Epinephrin saved her life. The same with Penuts..

As a child am curious how early lenny can learn to free dive, are their restrictions on children for unknown reasons or if capable can he dive to 20m for example before the age of 10?? Maybe you need long strong legs to get that deep or something I am unaware of? Cant wait to see Lenny and Darwins lives unfold

Great episode! And yes food is interesting topic for us landlubbers....! How do you do it; it is a completely different experience living on a sailboat hanging off an island. And really appreciated you including the recipes and preparations. I really enjoyed the black bean burger recipe.... it was the perfect one passed down from some great sailors and included ALL THE INGREDIENTS for fun boater burgers!! Including probably the most important inhredient: "Don't miss the Sunset!"
Those are ingredients to festive times and good eats!
    Thanks Vagabonde!!

P.s how do you guys go travelling in cars with kids, do you have to take booster/car seats everywhere etc?
